NERD WORD | Horticulturist
Exploring the Art of Restoration Through Horticultural Design
Are you a plant lover or have a green thumb? Then you may be interested in pursuing a career as a horticulturist!
Horticulturists are professionals who study and work with plants, utilising their knowledge to cultivate healthy and sustainable gardens, landscapes, and even food sources. These individuals are experts in soil science, plant biology, and pest management, as well as in the various methods of propagation, cultivation, and harvest of different types of plants.
If you have a passion for nature and love working with plants, a career in horticulture may be the perfect fit for you. By pursuing this path, you will have the opportunity to not only work with plants but also make a positive impact on the environment by promoting sustainable and eco-friendly practices.
So if you have a green thumb and a love for nature,
horticulture may just be the perfect career path for you.

Lately, I've been receiving a lot of messages from my followers asking me what I do for a living, and I thought I'd take the opportunity to share a little bit about myself.
My name is Phoebe , and I'm a creative entrepreneur.
What does that mean exactly?
Well, it means that I use my creativity and passion to bring unique ideas to life. I'm constantly brainstorming and experimenting with new concepts, whether it's through art, design, or content creation.
By day, I am a horticulturist specialising in herbaceous planting design schemes and garden restoration. Whether you need a complete garden redesign, maintenance plan, or a garden restoration, I've got you covered.

As a child, I always had a wild imagination and loved to explore new things. I have been fascinated by the beauty and intricacies of nature. This passion followed me throughout my academic life and led me to pursue an education in horticulture. After graduating, I worked various gardening roles, but I quickly realised that I wanted more creative freedom. That's when I decided to start my own business. I also collaborate with other creatives and small businesses to bring their visions to life.
Although I spend most of my days behind the desk, writing blog posts and creating ebooks, I still make time to be out in the gardens a couple of days a week.
And let me tell you, I've seen it all - poor ecosystems, bad pruning, and everything in between. But that's where I come in - with a five-year plan and a team of experts, we can restore your garden to its natural and organic beauty.
I have a particular passion for restoring historical British stately homes, especially those from the Georgian and Victorian period. And even though I work with some modern properties that are fairly new, my clients continue to seek me out for my expertise in garden restoration & design.
One of the things I love most about my job is the freedom to be creative and experiment with new ideas. Every project is different, and I get to work with a diverse range of clients who all have unique stories to tell.
One of my favourite aspects of my career is the ability to restore neglected or damaged landscapes to their former glory. There is something incredibly satisfying about bringing life back to an area that was once barren or overgrown. Whether it's removing invasive plants or reintroducing native species, the process of restoration is truly rewarding.
But it's not just the physical work that I love. As a designer, I get to exercise my creativity and develop unique, beautiful concepts that reflect the needs and preferences of my clients. I get to collaborate with people from all walks of life and help bring their vision for their outdoor space to life.

There's nothing quite like being able to take a patch of land and turn it into a stunning oasis for people to enjoy. It's such a rewarding feeling knowing that my work brings joy to so many people's lives.
I also enjoy the constant challenge that comes with my job. There's always something new to learn in this industry, whether it's about the latest trends in design or the most innovative techniques for growing plants.
It keeps me on my toes and keeps me excited to come into work every day
But above all else, I think the thing I love most about my career is the satisfaction of seeing my vision come to life. To take a piece of land that may have been overlooked or forgotten and transform it into a beautiful and thriving garden is truly something special.
So, whether you have a small backyard garden or a grand estate, I'm here to help. Follow me on my journey as I work to restore the beauty of our green spaces, one garden at a time.

So there you have it, a little bit about me and what I do. I hope this has given you a glimpse into my world and has inspired you to pursue your passions. Remember, no dream is too big, and with hard work and determination, anything is possible.
Thank you for following along and for your continued support!
